A Dewitt resident, Kyle Sherwood, is facing multiple charges following a crash in Manlius. On Tuesday night (July 1), Sherwood, 32, crashed his vehicle into a utility pole at the intersection of Collamer Road and Fremont Road. The impact caused the car to roll over, and Sherwood fled the scene on foot.

According to Manlius Police Capt. Tina Stanton, Sherwood was arrested and charged with driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or above and driving while intoxicated, both misdemeanors. He also faces charges for failure to maintain lane and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, which are traffic violations.

The crash resulted in multiple poles and live wires being knocked down, leading to the closure of Collamer Road between Aspen Park Boulevard and Fremont Road.

Sherwood was not injured in the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to clear the debris and restore traffic flow in the area.
