The Liverpool Central School District has appointed Richard Chapman as its new superintendent. The Board of Education voted unanimously for Chapman, who will begin his tenure on August 1. Chapman has been serving as the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in the Westhill School District since 2023.

Before his role in Westhill, Chapman worked extensively in Liverpool. He started his career as a substitute teacher and later became the executive director of elementary education from 2016 to 2023. Chapman will replace former Superintendent Daniel Henner, who resigned in September 2024. The district had two interim superintendents, Douglas Lawrence and Brian Nolan, since Henner's departure.

Chapman's contract will run until July 31, 2028, with a first-year salary of $217,500. The Liverpool Central School District serves over 6,500 students. As reported by Syracuse.com, Chapman expressed his excitement about returning to Liverpool and leading the district forward.
