Syracuse Police Seek Leads in Double Stabbing Case

Syracuse police are investigating a double stabbing that occurred on Saturday night (June 28) on the Near Westside. Officers responded to a call at the 100 block of Gifford Street at approximately 9:33 p.m. Upon arrival, they were informed that a man in his 40s had been taken to Upstate University Hospital with stab wounds to his armpit and abdomen.

About an hour later, a 29-year-old woman arrived at the hospital with a stab wound to her thigh. Both individuals are expected to survive their injuries. Police believe the incidents are connected and are actively seeking information from the public to aid in their investigation.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Syracuse Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone who might have witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward.

According to CNY Central, both victims were transported to the hospital in private vehicles, and the police are working to piece together the events leading up to the stabbings. LocalSYR reports that the stabbings took place near Salt City Market, a popular area in Syracuse.
