A memorial service will be held on Sunday (June 29) for six-year-old twins Emily and Kenni Bisson, who tragically lost their lives when a tornado struck their home in Clark Mills. The service will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Owens-Pavlot and Rogers Funeral Service in Clinton. The tornado, which hit on Sunday (June 22), also claimed the life of 50-year-old Shelley Johnson when a tree fell on her home. Her memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday at the same location.
Emily and Kenni, described as "the girliest tomboys," were known for their vibrant personalities and love for art, dance, and sports. Their family encourages attendees to wear colorful clothing in their memory and to engage in activities the girls loved, like drawing and dancing. A special area will be set up at the funeral home for children to express their condolences through art.
The tornado, with winds reaching up to 105 miles per hour, left a trail of destruction, causing the roof of the Bisson home to collapse. A fundraiser has been organized to support their mother, Kayleigh Bisson, raising over $326,000 to cover funeral expenses and help rebuild her life.
In a separate incident, Shelley Johnson also died when a tree fell on her home. A fundraiser for her family has raised over $13,000 to assist with funeral costs and help her partner, Eddie, rebuild their home.
For those wishing to contribute, donations can be made through the respective GoFundMe pages for the Bisson family and Shelley Johnson's family. The community continues to rally around these families during this difficult time.
