Syracuse Police Investigate Shooting Injuring Three Boys

Syracuse Police are investigating a shooting that injured three young boys on Monday evening (June 23) on the city's North Side. The incident occurred near Knaul Street and Hier Avenue, where the boys were hit by gunfire around 8:30 p.m.

According to police, a nine-year-old boy was shot in the arm, an eight-year-old was struck below the back, and a 12-year-old sustained a graze wound to the foot. All three victims were transported to Upstate University Hospital and are currently in stable condition.

The shooting drew a significant police response, with dozens of cruisers arriving at the scene, which is near Schiller Park. The incident was witnessed by many residents, including children, who were outside due to the unusually hot weather. A local resident commented on the situation, saying, "That is life in this neighborhood" as reported by CNYCentral.

The Syracuse Police Department is actively investigating the case and has not yet made any arrests. They are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact their Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222 according to WSYR-TV.
