The Syracuse Mets will honor the late Van B. Robinson during their Juneteenth celebration on Thursday (June 19) at NBT Bank Stadium. The event will commemorate the end of slavery in the United States and highlight the contributions of the Black community to baseball.

The celebration will include a special pregame ceremony dedicated to Robinson, a former Syracuse Common Council leader and activist. His wife, Linda Brown Robinson, will throw the ceremonial first pitch. The Mets are collaborating with the Juneteenth Festival Committee to raise awareness about the holiday and its significance.

Fans attending the game can enjoy Dollar Thursday promotions, featuring $1 fountain drinks and souvenirs, $2 hotdogs and coneys, and $3 alcoholic beverages. The stadium gates will open at 5:30 p.m., with the game against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp starting at 6:35 p.m.

The Juneteenth celebration is part of the Mets' ongoing efforts to engage with the community and celebrate diversity. The team will continue to host various themed events throughout the season, including Pride Night, Latino Night, and Haudenosaunee Night.

Tickets for the 2025 season are available online, by phone, or in person at the Onondaga Coach Ticket Office. For more information, fans can visit the Syracuse Mets' official website or contact the team directly.
