Early voting continues today in Syracuse ahead of the primary election on Tuesday (June 24). The Onondaga County Board of Elections reported a record-setting turnout with 225 people casting their ballots on Saturday (June 14), 208 of whom were in Syracuse. The primary race for mayor is a key focus, with Democrats Pat Hogan, Chol Majok, and Deputy Mayor Sharon Owens competing for the nomination. The current mayor, Ben Walsh, is unable to run due to term limits.

Early voting, which began on Saturday (June 14), will conclude on Sunday (June 22). Voters can cast their ballots at any of the five early voting locations in Onondaga County. According to Syracuse.com, this primary will decide candidates for various county, city, and town positions for the general election on November 4.

In addition to the mayoral race, Syracuse voters will decide on a four-way Democratic primary for two seats on the Common Council and a four-way Democratic primary for three seats on the Syracuse city school board. Syracuse.com notes that the village of North Syracuse will hold its general election on June 17.
