The LaFayette Board of Education is set to vote on appointing Daniel Bowles as the district's interim superintendent at a meeting tonight (June 11). Bowles, who previously served as the superintendent of the North Syracuse Central School District from 2019 to 2024, is expected to take over the role starting July 1. He will fill the position until December 31, 2025.

Current superintendent Jeremy Belfield is resigning effective June 30 to assume a new role with the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation. Bowles, if approved, will work three to five days a week and earn $900 per day for his service.

According to the Post Standard, the board's decision will determine the immediate leadership of the LaFayette School District as it transitions under Bowles' interim guidance.
