Syracuse police are investigating four separate shootings that occurred on Sunday (June 8), resulting in multiple injuries and one fatality. The first incident happened at 3:43 a.m. on Erie Boulevard West, where a man in his 30s was shot in the leg. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital and is in stable condition, according to CNY Central.
Later, at approximately 1:06 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 600 block of Onondaga Avenue. A 20-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to his lower back and was also transported to the hospital in stable condition. At 5:45 p.m., another shooting occurred in the 500 block of Park Street, where an 18-year-old male was shot in the lower back. He remains in stable condition at the hospital.
The fatal shooting took place at 6:09 p.m. on Westmoreland Avenue, near Parkside Commons. A 22-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at Upstate University Hospital. Syracuse.com reports that police have not released the victim's name.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about these shootings to contact the Syracuse Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222. The investigations are ongoing, and so far, no arrests have been made.
