Starting today, drivers in Geddes should prepare for delays on State Route 695. The New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT) announced that southbound lanes between Interstate 690 West and Gerelock Road will be reduced to one lane. This lane reduction is part of a road resurfacing project that will take place from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays through next Thursday (June 10).
The lane reduction is expected to cause traffic delays, and motorists are advised to plan accordingly. The NYS DOT urges drivers to slow down and exercise caution while traveling through the work zone to ensure safety for both the workers and themselves. According to CNY Central, the construction schedule is weather-dependent, meaning any adverse weather conditions could impact the project timeline.
Motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes or allow extra travel time during the construction period. The NYS DOT is committed to completing the resurfacing work efficiently and safely.
