Syracuse, N.Y. - A Syracuse Teen has been arrested after he allegedly attempted an armed robbery.
Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office says a person called 911 around 11 the morning of Sunday June1st Sunday, to report that a man tried to rob him of his phone and vehicle at gunpoint, at the Heritage Park Townhouses off Wetzel Road.
Deputies say 18 year old Gabron Polk ran from the scene after the failed attempt.
Deputies and State Troopers found him a short time later, in the woods behind the Wetzel Road Elementary school.
Polk was found in possession of 9mm “ghost gun".
He was transported to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Headquarters and charged with the following offenses:
- Attempted Robbery in the First Degree - Forcible theft with a deadly weapon.
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree - Possession of a loaded firearm.
- Criminal Use of a Firearm in the Second Degree - Display of a weapon during a felony.
- Criminal Possession of a Firearm
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree - Possession of a “ghost gun.”
