Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Police have released the name of the Officer who fired his weapon during a fatal active shooter incident last week:
Police say Officer Chris Mazzotti, is the officer who fired at 42-year-old Donnell Hogan inside an apartment building on North Townsend street last Tuesday.
Hogan, who was in a wheelchair, was shooting his handgun inside the building when Mazzotti and another officer confronted him.
Hogan then fired at the officers, and that's when Mazzotti fired one shot, striking Hogan, who later died.
Syracuse Police continue to investigate as does the State Attorney General's office.
