The Syracuse University men's lacrosse team is preparing for a high-stakes showdown against the Maryland Terrapins in the NCAA Division I men's lacrosse Final Four. The game is scheduled for Saturday (May 24) at 2:30 p.m. at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and will be broadcast on ESPN 2.

Syracuse advanced to the semifinals for the first time since 2013 after a narrow 19-18 victory over Princeton. Meanwhile, Maryland secured its spot by defeating Georgetown 9-6 in the quarterfinals. This marks the Terrapins' 11th Final Four appearance under head coach John Tillman and their 30th overall, surpassing Johns Hopkins for the most in tournament history.

The Orange have a challenging task ahead, as they have lost their last seven encounters with Maryland, including an 11-7 defeat earlier this season. During that game, Syracuse led 5-4 at halftime, but Maryland took control with a 4-1 run in the third quarter. Logan McNaney, Maryland's standout goalie, made 12 saves to help secure the win.

Syracuse will need strong performances from players like Joey Spallina and Owen Hiltz, who both scored two goals in the previous matchup against Maryland. The game promises to be a thrilling contest as both teams vie for a spot in the national championship game.
