Residents of the Village of Pulaski are currently under a boil water order following a valve replacement at the intersection of North Jefferson Street and Park Street. The order, issued by the Oswego County Health Department, is expected to remain in place until at least Saturday (May 10) as officials work to ensure the water system is free of contamination.

The Department of Public Works replaced the valve on Wednesday night (May 7), which caused a temporary loss of water pressure throughout the village. As a precaution, the health department requires residents to bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, or preparing food. Residents can also use bottled water certified by the New York State Department of Health.

According to CNY Central, the health department will conduct tests to confirm the absence of contamination before lifting the order. Oswego County officials have stated that residents will be notified when it is safe to stop boiling water.

For further information, residents can contact the Pulaski Mayor's office at 315-298-6637 or the Oswego County Health Department at 315-349-3557.
