Two students from Liverpool High School were arrested following an armed robbery in the Town of Clay. According to the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred on Sunday (May 4) when a 17-year-old male student arranged to purchase a gun from a 16-year-old male student. During the meeting, the 17-year-old displayed a firearm and stole two guns from the 16-year-old before fleeing the scene.
Authorities executed a search warrant at the 17-year-old's residence in Syracuse, where they recovered both firearms: a 9mm semi-automatic ghost gun with a 30-round magazine and a .22 caliber semi-automatic HK assault-style handgun with an extended magazine. The 17-year-old is facing charges including first-degree robbery, while the 16-year-old is charged with weapons possession and stolen property offenses.
Both students were arraigned and remanded to the Hillbrook Juvenile Detention Center. The case highlights ongoing concerns about youth access to firearms and the potential for violence. The investigation is ongoing, and further legal proceedings are expected.
