Delta Airlines is making travel easier for Syracuse University football fans by offering direct flights to two major away games this season. The airline will provide nonstop service from Syracuse Hancock International Airport to Atlanta for the game against Tennessee on Saturday, August 30, and to South Bend, Indiana, for the matchup against Notre Dame on Saturday, November 22.
For the game in Atlanta, Delta will use an A321-200 aircraft, which seats 193 passengers. The flight will depart Syracuse at 12:02 p.m. on Friday, August 29, and return from Atlanta at 9:02 a.m. on Sunday, August 31. In November, Delta will operate a CRJ-900 aircraft, capable of carrying 70 to 76 passengers, for the Notre Dame game. This flight will leave Syracuse at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, and return from South Bend at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 23.
Jason Terreri, Executive Director of the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority, expressed excitement about the additional flights, stating, "Much of Central New York 'bleeds Orange,' and we are excited Delta Air Lines is making it even easier for the Orange faithful to show up and support our team on the road."
These flights are part of Delta's broader initiative to support college football fans, adding more than 40 additional flights this season. Amy Martin, Vice President of North America Network Planning at Delta, emphasized the importance of college football to American culture and the airline's commitment to facilitating fan travel.
Tickets for these flights are available on Delta's website, delta.com.
