Syracuse Police Arrest Suspect in James Street Shooting

Syracuse police have arrested 18-year-old Rephayah Oselmo in connection with a shooting that took place on James Street earlier this week. The incident occurred on Wednesday (April 30), when Oselmo allegedly opened fire, striking a 20-year-old man in the leg. The victim was promptly taken to Upstate University Hospital, where doctors discovered a bullet lodged in his leg. Fortunately, the victim is expected to survive the injury.

Oselmo is currently being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center without bail. The arrest follows an investigation by Syracuse police, who responded swiftly to the shooting. According to Syracuse.com, the shooting took place in the 900 block of James Street.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released further details about the motive behind the shooting or any potential connections between Oselmo and the victim. As the case progresses, more information may become available.
