Starting Monday (April 28), drivers in Oswego County will face a lane closure on State Route 69 in the Town of Parish. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that traffic will be reduced to one lane on the bridge over the Little Salmon River. A temporary traffic light will manage the alternating flow of vehicles during this period.
The lane closure is part of a bridge maintenance project, which is expected to last until the end of May, weather permitting. Officials urge drivers to slow down in work zones, reminding them that fines are doubled for speeding violations. According to CNY Central, repeated speeding offenses in work zones could result in the loss of a driver's license.
This maintenance work aims to improve the safety and reliability of the bridge infrastructure. Drivers are encouraged to plan for potential delays and exercise caution while traveling through the area. For more details on the project, visit the New York State Department of Transportation website.
