No Charges Yet in Syracuse Road Rage Shooting

No charges have been filed in a road rage incident in Syracuse that resulted in the death of 61-year-old Ezell Hicks Jr. The incident occurred on Wednesday (April 23) near West Fayette Street and South West Street. According to police, Hicks and another man were involved in a dispute that escalated, leading to Hicks being shot in the head after approaching the other man's vehicle with a knife.

The Syracuse City Police Department reported that Hicks was taken to Upstate University Hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died. The police have surveillance footage of the incident, which is currently under review by a grand jury to determine if charges will be filed.

The area around the Nancy Cantor Warehouse, where the incident took place, has been cleared, and one person was detained in connection with the shooting, according to the Daily Orange. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and witness statements.
