Tops Friendly Markets is set to invest $4.4 million to renovate two of its stores in Onondaga County. The renovations will take place at the Fayetteville and Manlius locations, with the aim of enhancing the shopping experience for customers. The upgrades are expected to be completed by late summer or early fall, according to company spokesperson Katherine Sautter.

The Fayetteville store, located in Towne Center, will receive $2.25 million in renovations, while the Manlius store on West Seneca Street will see $2.15 million in improvements. These updates will include new decor, flooring, lighting, self-checkouts, and expanded deli and bakery sections. Customers can also expect more organic and health food options, as reported by Syracuse.com.

Ron Ferri, president of Tops Friendly Markets, expressed pride in the investment, stating that the remodels are designed to offer a more convenient and enjoyable shopping environment. The Produce News quoted Ferri saying, "These enhancements are designed with our shoppers in mind."

Meanwhile, Tops is planning to close its store on East Genesee Street in DeWitt on Friday (April 25), ending over 40 years of operation. The DeWitt location, one of the smallest in the area, faced ongoing challenges despite efforts to revitalize it. All employees will be offered positions at other locations, as reported by Syracuse.com.
