In Annsville, a domestic incident escalated over the weekend when Brian K. Platt, 34, allegedly barricaded himself in a home with an open propane tank and threatened to set the house on fire. Deputies from the Oneida County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene on Taberg Florence Road on Saturday (April 19), following reports of a physical domestic incident.

Upon arrival, deputies found Platt had locked himself in a bedroom and was making threats to ignite the house with them inside. According to Syracuse.com, Platt attempted to start a fire, prompting deputies to act quickly.

After an unsuccessful attempt to subdue Platt with a Taser, deputies used pepper spray to gain entry and arrest him. Platt now faces multiple charges, including attempted arson, aggravated family offense, criminal mischief, and harassment. He is currently being held at the Oneida County Jail, awaiting arraignment, as reported by LocalSYR.

Sheriff Robert M. Maciol confirmed that no injuries were reported during the incident, and Platt was taken into custody without further complications, according to CNY Central.
