An investigation is underway after a bomb threat was reported at the Destiny USA mall in Syracuse on Wednesday (April 16). The threat was received around 5:50 a.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement. More than 10 police cars arrived at the scene, and officers conducted a thorough search of the premises.
According to Sgt. Thomas Blake, a spokesperson for the Syracuse police, no suspicious devices were found, and there was no immediate danger to the public. The police emphasized the importance of taking such threats seriously, especially in high-traffic areas like shopping malls, which are common targets for non-credible threats.
The mall, which was not open at the time of the threat, was thoroughly checked and later reopened after authorities confirmed there was no threat. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
