An arrest warrant has been issued for Radu Zumar Turner, 48, in connection with a fatal shooting in Manlius. Turner is accused of shooting his nephew, 39-year-old Kenquan Davis, after an argument on Elmbrook Drive on Sunday (April 6). Turner is wanted on charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.
According to the Manlius Police Department, Davis was in his vehicle attempting to drive away when he was shot, causing him to crash into a tree on Garrett Drive. He was taken to SUNY Upstate Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities found Turner's 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee at Harborside Manor Apartment Complex in Salina, but Turner remains at large. The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office, the United States Marshal Service, and the FBI are assisting in the search for Turner.
Manlius Police urge anyone with information about Turner's whereabouts to contact them immediately and not to approach him. WSYR-TV reports that Turner is described as a six-foot-tall Black male weighing about 155 pounds.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by Davis's family to support them during this difficult time. As of Monday afternoon, $755 has been raised toward a $20,000 goal.
