Starting today, drivers in DeWitt will experience lane closures on Thompson Road, also known as State Route 635. The New York State Department of Transportation has announced that the road will be reduced to one northbound and one southbound lane on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This change is necessary to facilitate drainage and bridge deck work in the area. The lane closures are expected to last until Monday, April 7.
According to WSYR, construction activities are weather-dependent, meaning that the schedule could change if conditions are not favorable. Motorists are advised to exercise caution, slow down, and move over for highway workers. The New York State Department of Transportation emphasizes that fines are doubled for speeding in work zones. Furthermore, as noted by the New York State Department of Transportation, multiple speeding violations in work zones could lead to the suspension of a driver's license.
