A funeral service is being held today for Yeraldith Tschudy, a 32-year-old social worker who tragically lost her life in a double-homicide in Syracuse, New York. Family and friends will gather at New Comer Cremations and Funerals in Rochester to pay their final respects.
Tschudy was killed on Monday (March 17) by her boyfriend, David Huff, at a residence on Roney Road. Huff is also accused of murdering his 11-year-old son, Jeremiah. According to Syracuse.com, Huff has been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Tschudy, originally from Colombia, was a devoted mother of two and worked with the mentally ill at Villa of Hope, a nonprofit organization. Her obituary describes her as a beloved daughter and caring sister, as reported by CNY Central.
A close friend, Yaite Leon, described Tschudy as brilliant and supportive, saying, "She was my right hand." Tschudy is survived by her two children, their father, her mother, stepfather, and other relatives. A GoFundMe has been established to assist with funeral expenses.
David Huff is currently in custody and awaiting a psychological evaluation. The case is being presented to a grand jury, Spectrum News reports.
