The City of Syracuse is actively seeking feedback from residents on its draft Vision Zero Action Plan, which aims to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries. The plan outlines initiatives, safety improvements, and policy recommendations to create safer streets for all road users. Residents can participate in an online survey to share their insights and suggestions, which will play a critical role in shaping the final plan. The survey is available online at syr.gov/Vision-Zero and will remain open until April 1.
Mayor Ben Walsh emphasized the importance of public engagement in the success of the Vision Zero initiative. "We want to hear from everyone—whether you walk, bike, drive, or take transit—because safety is a shared responsibility," Walsh stated. Resident feedback will help build a transportation network that prioritizes safety and mobility for all.
The city has previously conducted five public meetings and attended pop-up events to gather input on the Vision Zero plan. After synthesizing all community feedback, the city will refine the draft plan and present a final version for adoption later this year.
