Syracuse police are actively investigating two violent incidents that occurred over the weekend. On Saturday (March 15), a 34-year-old woman was critically injured after being shot in the neck on Fitch Street. She was quickly transported to University Hospital and remains in critical but stable condition. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Syracuse Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222, as reported by CNY Central.
In a separate incident on Sunday (March 16), a 26-year-old man was stabbed while attempting to break up a fight in Armory Square. The stabbing occurred around 1:14 a.m. in the 100 block of Walton Street. The victim approached police officers in the area and was found with a stab wound to his abdomen. He was taken to University Hospital, where he is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. Syracuse police are seeking information from the public regarding this incident as well, according to Syracuse.com.
No arrests have been made in connection with either case. The police continue to investigate both incidents and are appealing to the community for any leads or information that might assist in solving these cases.
