Oswego County, New York, is receiving crucial assistance from Team Rubicon, a disaster response group, as it struggles with the aftermath of severe snowstorms. The county has been buried under several feet of snow, leading to over 50 structural collapses. Team Rubicon is sending six volunteers to help with snow removal tasks, such as clearing pathways for emergency vehicles and removing snow from roofs using roof rakes.

According to the Oswego County Emergency Management Office, residents can request help by calling designated phone banks. However, due to high demand, not all requests may be fulfilled. Priority is given to those most in need, such as individuals with mobility issues or medical conditions.

Pastor Tammie Nipper of Polermo Community Church has also called for local volunteers to aid in the effort, emphasizing the community's spirit of helping one another.

Residents are encouraged to seek professional help for roof snow removal to avoid injuries. The Oswego County Purchasing Department has compiled a list of available snow removal services, which can be accessed online.

The Oswego County Special Operations Team, assisted by New York Task Force 2, continues to support life-safety incidents related to structural collapses.
