Syracuse police are on the lookout for a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a Family Dollar store on James Street. The incident occurred on Wednesday night (February 19) when a man entered the store, held an employee at gunpoint, and demanded money. According to Kieran Coffey, a spokesperson for the Syracuse Police Department, the suspect managed to escape with $750 in cash and several packs of cigarettes.
The robbery was reported at approximately 11:22 p.m., and the suspect fled the scene on foot. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. The police have not yet released a description of the suspect and are urging anyone with information to contact the Syracuse Police Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222.
