he Syracuse Police Athletic and Activities League is hosting a basketball clinic today (Wednesday, February 19) for children aged 10 to 13. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Clary Middle School on Amidon Drive. The clinic aims to provide kids with exercise, skill development, and mentorship from experienced coaches.

According to Jimmy Oliver, the director of community engagement for the Syracuse Police Department who spoke with Syracuse.com, the clinic offers a chance for participants to learn new skills, engage with peers, and connect with local mentors in a positive environment. The event is free and encourages interaction between the youth and law enforcement, fostering community ties.

The clinic is part of a broader effort to promote physical activity and build confidence among young people in Syracuse. By participating in the clinic, children will not only improve their basketball skills but also have the opportunity to form positive relationships with police officers.
