Across Central New York, drivers are experiencing steady fuel prices, with the average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline holding at $3.15. This price remains unchanged from last week but is three cents higher than a month ago. According to AAA, the state average for New York is slightly higher at $3.17 per gallon, while the national average is $3.09.

The consistency in fuel prices comes amid fluctuating oil costs and varying gasoline demand. As noted by All WNY, inclement winter weather can impact gasoline distribution and refinery operations, contributing to price stability in some areas. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reports a slight decrease in gasoline demand and minimal drops in gasoline production, averaging 9.2 million barrels daily.

Looking ahead, fuel prices may continue to fluctuate due to weather conditions and changes in oil prices, which currently range from $74 to $82 per barrel.
