Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh is making significant leadership changes following the resignation of his chief administrative officer, Frank Caliva, earlier this month. Corey Driscoll Dunham, who has been the chief operations officer since 2018, will now take over as the chief administrative officer. Caliva stepped down to start a mediation and dispute resolution practice. Dunham will oversee several city departments, including Finance, Human Resources, and the Office of Analytics, Performance, and Innovation. She will also manage a delayed project to modernize timekeeping and payroll, which has already cost nearly $10 million.
Dunham's previous role as chief operations officer, responsible for public works, engineering, parks, and water departments, will be filled by Conor Muldoon. Muldoon has served as the deputy chief innovation and data officer since 2021. Mayor Walsh expressed confidence in both Dunham and Muldoon, citing their expertise and innovative work in city operations.
The changes come as the city aims to improve efficiency and address ongoing projects. Both Dunham and Muldoon will continue to earn annual salaries of $144,200 and $92,700, respectively.
