Utica Police Investigate Weekend Shooting Incident

Utica police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred over the weekend. On Sunday morning (January 12), officers responded to gunfire detected by the ShotSpotter system near Dewitt Street and Erie Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a building on Erie Street. Inside the vehicle, a man was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was initially transported to Wynn Hospital, located just blocks from the scene, before being airlifted to a hospital in Syracuse for further treatment. As of Sunday afternoon, the victim's condition was not publicly available, and his identity has not been released.
