A homeless man discovered deceased on the Syracuse University campus has been identified as 76-year-old Kevin McMillin. Authorities found McMillin's body on December 19 in Huntington Hall, located on Marshall Street. An autopsy revealed that he died from severe malnutrition, ruling out any suspicion of foul play.

McMillin had no affiliation with Syracuse University but had previously faced charges for trespassing in campus buildings. According to Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick, McMillin likely entered the building to escape harsh weather conditions, as temperatures were around 30 degrees with rain and snow on the day of his death.

John Tumino, founder of the organization In My Father’s Kitchen, which assists the chronically homeless, emphasized the importance of community support for individuals like McMillin. He encouraged people to call 211 when they see someone in need, allowing outreach organizations to provide necessary support.
