An investigation is underway after the discovery of a 76-year-old man's body on the fifth floor of Huntington Hall at Syracuse University on Thursday (December 19). According to the Syracuse University Department of Public Safety (DPS), the deceased was not affiliated with the university, and there were no signs of foul play or suspicious activity. The Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office has removed the body from the building.

The discovery was reported shortly before 11:30 a.m., prompting a response from both DPS and Syracuse Police. The Onondaga County District Attorney, Bill Fitzpatrick, confirmed the age of the deceased and noted that the body had been there for at least two days. Huntington Hall, located at the corner of Marshall Street and University Avenue, serves as the main hub for Syracuse University's School of Education, housing faculty offices and classrooms.

As the investigation continues, authorities are seeking information from the public. Anyone with relevant details is encouraged to come forward. This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
