Three individuals have been arrested following an assault inside a home on South Salina Street in Nedrow on Tuesday (December 3). According to the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office, the suspects forcibly entered the residence and attacked the 56-year-old homeowner. The victim sustained a head injury and cuts but is expected to recover.
Upon arrival, deputies found two suspects, Terry Braxton, 43, of Syracuse, and Shane Demmerle, 33, of the Town of Onondaga, walking outside the property. They were taken into custody immediately. A third suspect, Rebecca Butler, 33, of Nedrow, was also arrested at the scene. The Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division led the investigation, which resulted in the arrest of all three individuals.
The suspects face multiple felony charges, including robbery in the first degree, assault with intent to cause serious injury, and criminal use of a firearm. Braxton faces additional charges for violation of probation and possession of a controlled substance. All three were arraigned on the evening of December 3 and are currently held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
Authorities reported that Butler was in a relationship with the victim, suggesting the crime was not random. The investigation is ongoing.
