Baldwinsville, N.Y - State Police have arrested two people involved in an illicit massage parlor in the Town of Van Buren, part of a human trafficking ring.
Two women were arrested at the so called Wellness Spa at the River Mall Plaza on Downer Street in Baldwinsville next to the Tops market. Police busted the place after tips from the public about suspicious activity.
Troopers arrested Liyan Liu, age 59, from Flushing, NY, on one count of Prostitution, and one count of Unauthorized Practice of a profession under New York Education Law, and Shuqin Zhou, age 61,from China, for one count of Unauthorized Practice of a profession under New York Education Law.
A preliminary investigation revealed the above individuals were living at this business location and providing sexual acts to customers for payment. A search warrant was conducted at the business, resulting in the police seizing ledgers, price lists, condoms, business records, and digital equipment.
The two women were sleeping and living inside the spa which troopers say is typical of illegal set ups, and that the women are victims in a large scheme.
