Salina Man Charged After Making 22 Calls To 911, Threatening To Shoot Cops

Salina, N.Y. - A Salina man in trouble after calling 911, 22 times threatening to shoot people.

For two hours, 31 year old Corey Kinsella made the threating calls, saying if police came for him he would ambush them, and said he was going to go to Justice Center and shoot people in the head. According to court papers, Kinsella was upset for not getting paid for a fence he built and disputes with his ex-girlfriend over their daughter.

Kinsella's brother Shawn was caught jumping a fence at the house the day SPD Officer Michael Jensen and Deputy Lt. Michael Hoosock were shot dead.

At the time of Kinsella’s arrest, a search of his home was conducted and no firearms were located.

He faces a charge of Making a Terroristic Threat (a class D felony)

He was arraigned on Thursday evening. Bail was set at $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond, $75,000 partially secured bond. The case is next scheduled in court on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
