East Syracuse , N.Y. - DeWitt police say a 13 year old has died after a motorcycle crash last week.
Police say Jayce Smith-Athey from East Syracuse was traveling at a high rate of speed when he hit the SUV at the intersection of Watertree Drive and Kirkville Road around 11 last Monday night. He was ejected from the motorcycle, and the motorcycle subsequently caught on fire. Due to the force of the collision, the red SUV was spun around 180 degrees.
It took police awhile to identify him as he had no identification on him and the motorcycle was uninsured and unregistered.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, when Police say he died Saturday.
