Two Madison County Men On ATV, Dirt Bike Arrested By Deputies After Chase

Town of Madison, N.Y. - Two Madison county men arrested after trying to run from Sheriff's Deputies.

Around 8 on the night of June 12 Madison County Deputies were patrolling Highway 20 in the Town of Madison, when they saw two men, one on an ATV the other a dirt bike driving down the highway.

Deputies tried to stop them, but both vehicles fled. The ATV driven by 26 year old Austin Jones of Morrisville was chased into a field, where he was apprehended after a brief struggle.

The other man 30 year old Michael Frazier jumped in and began to fight with the Deputies before being subdued himself.

Jones faces the following charges:

  •  DWI (Unclassified Misdemeanor)
  •  Operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 of 1 % (Unclassified misdemeanor)
  •  Failure to obey police officer (Infraction)
  • Collide with Emergency/Hazard vehicle (infraction)
  •   ATV Violation: Illegal operation on highway (infraction)
  •  Unregistered ATV (Infraction)
  •  Obstruct Governmental Administration 2nd (Class A Misdemeanor)
  • Resisting Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor)

Following investigation into the incident, Frazier was charged with the following offenses:

  • Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd (Class A Misdemeanor)
  • Resisting Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor)

Following arrest Frazier was released on appearance tickets.

Jones was jailed and later arraigned and released on recognizance.
