Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Police Chief Joseph Cecile says his agency is prepared for tomorrow's visit from President Biden. Chief Cecile says there were concerns the department would not have the capacity to help with Biden's stop as members mourned the line-of-duty deaths of Officer Michael Jensen and Onondaga County Sheriff's Lieutenant Michael Hoosock.

The department and Secret Service are now working together to keep everyone safe. Biden is reportedly visiting the Museum of Science and Technology.

In preparation for the visit Syracuse Police have announced road closures and parking restrictions which are listed below.

  • There will be no parking in the areas marked in red beginning on Wednesday, April 24th, at 10 p.m.
  • If vehicles remain parked in these areas, towing will begin on Thursday, April 25th, at 5 a.m.
  • Streets marked in red will remain closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 25th.
  • While there will be no vehicular traffic, pedestrian traffic is allowed, and businesses will remain open.

Biden is coming to Syracuse to officially announce the over six-billion-dollars in federal grant money that's going to Micron Technology.
