Canastota Village Police Officer Arrested For Stalking And Cocaine

Lenox,N.Y. - A Canastota Village Police officer arrested after a domestic incident.

A woman told Madison County Deputies that 59 year old Robert McCormick of Oneida was stalking her through hundreds of texts, phone calls and continually driving past her house after she attempted to break up with him.

McCormick allegedly tried using his position as a Police Officer to intimidate her.

McCormick whose also a School Resource Officer at Canastota High, is facing several charges including possession of cocaine and is on administrative leave.

Below are the charges Robert McCormick faces:

  • Official Misconduct – Class A Misdemeanor
  • Aggravated Harassment in the 2nd degree – Class A Misdemeanor
  • Stalking in the 4th degree – Class B Misdemeanor
  • Harassment in the 2nd degree – Violation
