Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga Sheriffs say 5 women were arrested Monday night after allegedly stealing cart loads of merchandise from the Kohls store on Route 31 in Clay. A little before 9, Sheriffs got a call that women were waking out of the store with carts filled with merchandise they didn't pay for.
Deputies spotted the suspects, in what turned out to be a stolen, BMW on 481 heading south.
They tried to stop it but it continued onto 81 south and exited at Spencer Street where it struck another vehicle and became disabled.
Everyone got out of the car and the driver ran away. Five were arrested at the scene. Luckily no one was injured
Arrested were Janiyah Savage-Hope,18, of Syracuse, Neveah Gunn, 19, of Syracuse, and Nataisa Bownes,21, of Syracuse, and two juveniles, ages 15 and 17. They were charged with Grand Larceny 3rd, Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle without owner consent, and Conspiracy 5th.
The three adults were lodged at the Justice Center awaiting arraignment.
