Town of Dewitt, N.Y. - Three men from New York City were arrested in the Town of Dewitt after they were observed by police burglarizing a home of an Asian-American business owner.
25- year-old Yesion Poveda-Jimenez, 35-year-old Jose A Castro-Caicedo and 38-year-old Joan Fabian Leon Gonzalez were acting suspiciously outside the Butternut Drive house.
Police pulled them over when the vehicle left the residence finding items from the house inside the vehicle.
Investigators requested Spanish speaking officers to the scene and assistance from US Immigration and Customs.
It was learned the three are originally from Columbia and they targeted this specific Asian-American business owner's family’s home.
All three defendants were charged with Burglary in the 2nd degree, Grand Larceny in the 2nd degree, possession of burglar’s tools. Jose A Castro Caicedo was also issued subsequent traffic tickets.
