Former SU, Buffalo Bills and Tampa Buccaneers Player Mike Williams Dies

Tampa, FLA - Former NFL wide receiver and Syracuse University football player, Mike Williams has died at the age of 36.

His agent, Hadley Engelhard of EnterSports Management, today confirmed to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport the death.

Williams' death comes less than a week after he was reported to have been placed on life support after conflicting reports said he had died from injuries sustained in a construction accident.

A GoFundMe page written by his father, Wendell Muhammad, explained that a steal beam fell on Williams' head "causing a massive head injury," resulting in "swelling on his brain and spinal cord that was ruptured".

Williams played at SU from 2006-2009. He was selected by the Buccaneers at No. 101 overall in the fourth-round of the 2010 NFL Draft and spent his first four seasons with the franchise and finishing his last year of his career with the Buffalo Bills in 2014
