Oswego County Adult Literacy Teacher Charged With Falsifying Time Sheets

Oswego, N.Y. - State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, along with Oswego County District Attorney Gregory Oakes, and the State Police say an Oswego County adult literacy teacher has been arrested and charged with falsifying his times sheets.

72 year old William Fisher of Fulton, who worked for the Center for Instruction Technology and Innovation at BOCES, allegedly stole more than $4,000 from his employer.

Fisher's job was to help adults earn their GED. He was required to meet with students but he didn't several times, although he submitted time sheets saying he did.

Fisher was charged with the following:

  • (1) count of Grand Larceny 3rd degree, class “D” felony
  • (3) counts of Falsifying Business records 1st degree, class “E” felony
  • (1) count of Corrupting the Government 4th degree, class “E” felony

He was arraigned in Oswego County Centralized Arraignment Part and is due back in court on August 22, 2023
