Syracuse, N.Y. - The woman who helped her Onondaga County Sheriff’s Civil Deputy steal from the department was sentenced today.
To the surprise of some, Karen Eames was sentenced to six months in jail and 5 years probation. The widow of the Sheriff’s Civil Deputy, pled guilty in April to helping her husband steal half a million dollars from the Sheriff's department.
Last year, Karen's husband Isaac, shot her and killed their son and dog before turning the gun on himself in a murder suicide after he learned he was being investigated.
Eames has made full restitution to the Sheriffs of the amount stolen.
