Fulton Woman Arrested For Pushing Her Grandchildren Into Oswego River

Fulton, N.Y. - A Fulton woman has been arrested after pushing her two grandchildren into the Oswego River.

46 year old Heather Smith, faces 2 counts each of reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say the grandmother admitted she pushed the children ages 3 and 5 into the water saying she wanted them to go swimming.

The children who police say don't know how to swim were submerged in the almost freezing water.

Smith told Police she meant no harm.

Smith was taken to Oswego County Jail where she was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.
