"Move Over Awareness Festival" Sunday In Downtown Syracuse

Syracuse, N.Y. - There will be another festival this weekend in Downtown Syracuse, this one is a matter of life and death.

The Move Over Awareness Festival is meant to raise awareness about the state's Move Over Law. The festival will run in Clinton Square from noon to 8:00 p.m. Sunday with guest speakers, music and food.

The law requires drivers to slow down and move over, when possible, when there's an emergency or service vehicle on the side of the road. Its designed to protect law enforcement and emergency vehicle employees.

This past March, tow operator Irael Martinez, died after he was struck on the Onondaga Lake Parkway.
