Albany, N.Y. - New York State Division of Human Rights is filing a complaint against Amazon.
The complaint accuses Amazon of discriminating against pregnant workers and those with disabilities. It states that Amazon denied them “reasonable” accommodations.
One pregnant worker was approved to avoid lifting packages over 25 pounds but the Amazon worksite manager refused to follow the accommodation.
Two other allegations state Amazon workers who requested a modified work schedule due to a disability were also denied. Amazon operates 23 worksites that employ over 39,000 workers in New York.
